Troubleshooting

How to prevent interference between the camera and monitor?
  • To use your video monitor baby and parent unit together, you must be able to establish a radio link between them, and the range may be affected by environmental conditions.
  • Any large metal object, like a refrigerator, a mirror, a filing cabinet, metallic doors or reinforced concrete between the baby and parent units may block the radio signal.
  • The signal strength may also be reduced by other solid structures, like walls or electrical equipment, such as radios, TVs, computers, cordless or mobile phones, fluorescent lights or dimmer switches.
  • Use of other 2.4 GHz products, such as wireless networks (Wi-Fi routers), Bluetooth systems, or microwave ovens, may cause interference with this product, so keep the baby monitor at least 1.5 meters (5 feet) from these types of products, or turn them off if they appear to be causing interference.
  • If the signal is weak, try moving the parent and/or the baby unit to different positions in the rooms. Rotating the parent unit 90 degrees may also improve signal strength.
I am having connectivity issues.
The parent unit beeps.

If your parent unit beeps, please check the following:

  • The parent unit may have lost connection with the monitoring baby unit: reduce the distance between the parent unit and the baby unit, but not closer than 1 meter.
  • The baby unit may be switched off. Make sure that the camera is plugged in and ON.
  • Battery pack in parent unit is running low. Connect the parent unit to the mains power with the supplied power adapter for recharging.
I cannot hear sound or baby crying from the parent unit.

If you can not hear sound or baby crying on the parent unit, please check the following:

  • The volume level in the parent unit may be set too low: increase the volume level of the parent unit.
  • The parent unit and the monitoring baby unit may be out of range with each other: reduce the distance between the units, but not closer than 1 meter.
The baby monitor system produces a high-pitched noise.

Please check the following:

  • The parent unit and the baby unit are too close to each other: make sure the parent unit and baby unit are at least 1 meter away from each other.
  • The speaker volume of the parent unit may be set too high: decrease the volume of the parent unit.
Battery pack in the Parent Unit is running low quickly.
  • The LCD brightness may be set too high: try to decrease the brightness level.
  • The volume level of the parent unit may be set too high which consumes power: decrease the volume level of the parent unit.
Parent Unit image is not in color.

The baby unit is in a dark room, which causes the infra-red illumination to turn on and the picture image to change from color to black and white. When the light increases in the baby unit room, the picture will return to color.

Night Vision mode not activating?

If you have a flashlight or have a flashlight on your cell phone, there is a way to reset the night vision on the camera.

Take the camera into a dark room, preferably a bathroom or closet. Close the door to the room, plug the camera in and turn the lights off.

Shine the flashlight directly into the camera lens for 30 to 45 seconds. After this time has passed, remove the light from the eye of the camera. Allow the camera a few seconds to readjust and then check the video on the monitor. The night vision issue should be resolved.

Note: An alternative method to reset the infrared is to gently put your finger over the photo sensor in front of the camera for 15 seconds and then let go.
